How to clean white walls
Light-colored walls make a room appear more spacious and cleaner, but they get dirty quickly, forcing homeowners to follow basic cleaning tips.
Very few families clean their walls except for special occasions like moving house. But in the course of use, the white wall becomes dirty very quickly from human impact or dirt that comes from outside and opens the window.
Especially in households with children and pets, wall cleaning often has to be done on site. That’s why it’s important to learn how to clean light-colored walls.
Sweep, vacuum the dust from the ceiling to the floor
If dust stains get into the wall from the outside, go upstairs, use a microfiber cloth and start cleaning. You can use an unused dry brush or lint-free cloth to remove dust from chair rails and wall corners. If there is too much dust, you should use a vacuum cleaner and its brush attachment to get rid of it.
Use a disposable cleaning solution
For stains that cannot be removed with water, you can apply a small amount of all-purpose cleaner to microfiber cloths, rags or paper towels and start cleaning the stained area. However, users should choose multi-purpose detergents with a soapy texture. This method will help to effectively remove grease stains from the kitchen.
However, all cleaning methods will work on freshly painted walls.
Use dish soap and a sponge.
Don’t let the product name fool you, dish soap is a great cleaner for everything from countertops to carpets. Mild, low-scent soaps that do not contain many chemicals harmful to the user should be chosen to clean the wall.
For new stains, take a soft sponge dampened with soap and rub gently until it disappears. You may need to repeat this process 2-3 times if you want to clean the wall.
Use baking soda
For stubborn stains that cannot be removed with soap or water, you can take a sufficient amount of baking soda and mix with water to form a sticky paste. Then spread it slowly on the wall and leave it to work for as long as possible. Finally, when the stain has absorbed enough, wipe it off with a microfiber cloth or paper towel.
Use special Magic Eraser cleaning pads
If that doesn’t work, you can dampen the magic eraser and gently wipe the stain or scratch until the wall is clean. This product contains very strong cleaning agents, users don’t need too much force to scrub the wall.
Note: For gloss and semi-gloss painted walls, this product may leave a dull stain when rubbed hard, so users should be careful.
Tips to keep the wall clean for a long time
Clean the wall regularly to prevent stains from penetrating the surface.
Vacuum carefully, avoid dust and dirt on the floor and wall.
Dirt easily sticks to ceiling fans in particular and flies through the house if they are not cleaned regularly. Because of this, you should clean the fans and other items around the house a few weeks a week to keep the space clean and airy.
